Original Midgard Workshop Lamp


This piece is originated from the 60’s and was found attached to a drawing board in a closed glass factory in Hungary. After we found it we took it apart, gave it a good clean and professionally it them to it’s current high standard.Midgard is a lighting manufacturer founded in 1919 by the engineer Curt Fischer, which still produces exclusively in Germany. On the occasion of poor lighting conditions in his own company, Fischer invented and built the first movable steering lamps with his company Midgard, a real innovation at the beginning of the 20th century, which was used in numerous applications at the Bauhaus under Walter Gropius. Curt Fischer is regarded as the inventor of steerable light with his patent from 1919.
